This phase is a combination of first dates... we'll see if we are a good fit for each other based on your goals and our construction process.
1. Reach Out
Fill out our contact form or call us to share the project you have in mind.
2. Discovery Call
We'll schedule a 10–20 minute phone call to understand your goals and determine if we're a match. We'll ask more detailed questions about your project and discuss the problems you want to solve.
3. On-Site Consultation
During the on-site consultation, we'll continue the conversation from the Discovery Call by exploring your existing space and identifying keys needs. We'll then take some time to capture the current space and take measurements to help prepare your Ballpark Estimate.
4. Ballpark Estimate Review
Based on the consultation and any design ideas you provide, we’ll send a preliminary estimate to give you a sense of budget. We’ll review it together on a video call, then discuss next steps so we can get started on designing your new space!
Would you let a doctor operate without first running tests and making a plan? This phase is where we do the same—diagnose before we build.
5. PDA & Retainer
To kickoff design, we’ll enter into a Project Development Services Agreement (PDA) and collect a retainer. This lets us build a plan that’s tailored, feasible, and within budget.
6. Schematic Design
During Schematic Design, we'll focus on space & layout planning. We’ll create a layout that addresses your priorities. Want to open up the space? This is when we do Exploratory Demo to check feasibility and refine your construction budget.
7. Design Development
During Design Development we’ll help you choose materials, colors, fixtures, and finishes. Your selections will be used to generate detailed 3D renderings so you can visualize the space.
8. Final Design & Construction Agreement
With layout and selections locked in, we’ll start negotiating with vendors and evaluating scope with trade partners. Then we’ll present a fixed-price Construction Agreement that outlines every detail of your build.

9. We Get To Work
Your Project Manager will update you weekly on progress and upcoming steps. Communication during the build includes daily logs, weekly snapshots, and regular meetings. We use dust barriers, floor protection, and air scrubbers where needed to keep your home clean, safe, and livable throughout construction.
10. Texas 3-Step - Step 1: Internal Walkthroughs
Our team will conduct multiple internal quality control walkthroughs throughout construction to ensure the project is progressing as per the construction plans and our workmanship standards—before we walk the project with you.
11. Professional Cleaning
At the end of the build phase, we'll bring in professional cleaners so you can immediately enjoy your refreshed space.
This is where we ensure everything meets your expectations—down to the final detail.
12. Texas 3-Step - Step 2: Initial Walkthrough
Your Project Manager will walk the home with you, identifying any touch-ups or tweaks needed to reach perfection.
13. Texas 3-Step - Step 3: Final Walkthrough
Our team will confirm that every item from the punch list has been completed and that your project fully meets your expectations before handoff.
14. Handoff & Project Media
We'll bring in the cleaners one more time to add that finishing shine, capture professional photos/videos, provide an orientation, and finally, hand over your new space—with our signature Maple Builds touch!

15. Warranty
We offer a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind. If any issues arise, message us in your client portal or call us, and we'll address them promptly. We'll periodically check in during the warranty period to make sure everything continues to meet your expectations.
